I’m Giuliano Kolling, a Brazilian drummer based in London with a wealth of experience in teaching, performing and recording. I’m enthusiastic, reliable and a committed musician with specialty in Rock and Pop. My specialties include singing/songwriting, performing, teaching, recording, and I PLAY FOR THE SONG. I’m a groove-oriented drummer, and have been playing drums for over 15 years.
I come from a very musical family and as a child I studied piano and the piccolo flute. From age 12 to the end of my teens I was a member of the Canarinhos de Novo Hamburgo choir, and I toured the whole of Brazil with regular performances.
In my late teens I fell in love with drums and so I began serious studies on modern drumming. I eventually took regular lessons with renowned Brazilian drummer Demetrius Locks for just under 4 years.
During this same period I taught drumming to children, teens and adults, and made regular performances at church and with a professional gospel band. I was also a teacher of music theory and the piccolo flute to children.
Throughout the years I’ve recorded with some bands, including different styles ranging from rock, pop, funk music and even heavy metal.
I have moved to London in early 2012 and since then I have been teaching drums and taking part of session work. In addition, at the same time I have got a BMUS (HONS) POPULAR MUSIC PERFORMANCE Degree on Drums at BIMM – The British and Irish Modern Music Institute, one of the most renowned modern music institutes in London.
I also play for Lost Gravity, a riff-based band that fuses alternative rock and classic metal driven by memorable guitar riffs and catchy vocal melodies. We toured England, Poland, Czech Republic, Ukraine and just released our second album called How to make a giant. We also played major venues in London including the Underworld and The Camden Rock Festival! Stay tuned!
